How to Keep Fresh Herbs Green for a Week
Soft herbs lose their water first, so the trick is to give it back.
- Trim the stems as soon as you get home, like a bunch of flowers.
- Stand them in a jar with two fingers of cold water.
- Cover the leaves loosely with a clean bag and keep the jar in the fridge door. Basil is the exception: keep it out of the fridge.
- Change the water every two days.
Done this way, a bunch of mint stays green for a week.
